Milwaukee Business Journal: Guest house near Froedtert Hospital goes public with $12M campaign to double capacity

Kathy’s House launched the public phase of a $12 million campaign — and revealed major gifts so far — to fund a new facility for the nonprofit hospital guest house near the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center in Wauwatosa.

The new, larger Kathy’s House will address the facility frequently turning away guests due to capacity constraints, said president and CEO Patty Metropulos. The new facility will have 36 rooms, doubling the current capacity.

The new location on North 92nd Street is just south of the Froedtert & Medical College Clinical Cancer Center and the Center for Advanced Care. The current facility is 11 blocks west at 600 N. 103rd St. in Milwaukee.

Froedtert Hospital made the lead pledge of $6 million. Kathy’s House also received significant gifts from the Fotsch Family Foundation, Ladish Co. Foundation, Schneider Co., and Ginny and Mike McBride.
